Bacteria and Viruses

If you suspect or know that you have bacterial contamination (e.g. Ecoli. Bacteria) of your bore or spring water, we recommend using ultraviolet sterilisation (UV) for guaranteed elimination of harmful bacteria and viruses. The UV light at the wavelength generated by the lamp in a Crystal Pure ultraviolet unit is lethal to all micro-organisms, as it damages their ability to reproduce. The organisms are then no longer able to cause infection or spread disease.

Adequate pre-filtration is required before the UV unit to ensure that particulate matter does not shield micro-organisms from the UV light as they pass through the chamber. As long as adequate pre-filtration is in place, Crystal Pure UV Sterilisers can also be relied upon to kill cysts such as Giardia or Cryptosporidium.

We have a range of UV systems from small underbench models for domestic use (consumption water) through to large whole farm systems. The important factor when selecting the correct system is the peak flow rate, which is the maximum throughput of water at any one time - not average daily use, which is much lower.

Fits under the kitchen sink with a separarte faucet for consumption water only. Gives your “drinking” water protection from harmful bacteria and viruses, and can be added to any underbench water purifier.

Single Tap UV Steriliser (ST-UVSS)
Suitable for single tap use or small cottage/bach situation.

Whole House UV Steriliser (WH-UVSS)
Suitable for whole house use.

Farm, Motel, Campground UV Steriliser (CM-UVSS)
Suitable for multiple houses, motels, campgrounds and farm situations, such as a dairy shed.
