Installation/Operation

The Crystal Pure UBMCT25 Underbench Purifier will give you great tasting water on tap - no more pushing connectors on and off. The separate purifier tap compliments any kitchen or bench design, with optional designer taps available.  It comes complete as a step-by-step DIY kit with the filter housing and connections installed out of sight under the sink.

The UBMCT25 model comes complete with the 5-micron, solid activated carbon block filter cartridge (MCT25).  The MCT25 filter cartridge simultaneously removes chlorine and organic chemicals that contribute to taste and odour, and filters out dirt and solid particulate down to 5-micron.  A 15-micron outer layer protects the filter from premature blockage.  Unlike granular activated carbon (GAC) filters, the solid extruded carbon filter will not channel or bypass due to the extreme uniformity of the extruded carbon core. The carbon will also remove harmful pesticides and herbicides, which leach into rivers and groundwater from farm run-off and storm-water drains, and are not required to be removed by most town water treatment stations.

Although the MCT25 filter is not designed to remove heavy metals, it will remove up to 65% aluminium, a common additive to most town water supplies during treatment (Tested at Massey University, NZ, 1995).

There is no cleaning or maintenance required between filter changes. The filter cartridge is very easy to change. Simply turn the water off by fully turning the saddle tapping valve in clockwise, unscrew the housing and change the cartridge. Quick release fittings allow the housing to be easily removed from under the sink for cleaning and changing of the filter cartridge.

• The MCT25 filter cartridge should only be used with microbiologically safe water, as it is not designed to kill or remove bacteria or viruses.
• The MCT25 filter cartridge is not bacteriostatic and must be changed after 12 months, regardless of usage, as a bacterial growth may develop after this period.
• Actual filter life cannot be guaranteed, as it will depend on the quality of the water supply.
