Stream, River and Dam Supply
Stream or dam water can vary considerably over short periods of time due to changes in rainfall, often turning the water very dirty and discoloured. Some stream or dam waters often contain faecal coliforms and harmful bacteria from dead animals upstream or farm run-off, which can cause serious health problems.
Due to the constantly changing dirt loadings and unpredictable activities upstream, stream or dam water treatment solutions are based on individual circumstances, such as location of stream and volumes of water usage, etc. Treatment usually includes a course pre-filter followed by a finer polishing filter for removal of finer sediments, Giardia and Cryptosporidium. If chemical, toxic or pesticide contamination is suspected, a purifier can be added for consumption water. For bacterial or faecal coliform contamination we recommend adding an ultraviolet steriliser to give all year round protection.
Please contact us with details about your particular circumstances and we will advise on possible solutions.
